Quick reminder that our next meeting is on Wed April 18th at 6:30!
One specific request: is there a volunteer who can take minutes?
All Captains should have a pretty good handle on their areas, and I recommend bringing a print-out of your GoogleDoc files for updates. (If you’re a Captain and can’t make the meeting, please let me know, thanks!)
And for non-Captains, please come out as well! We need your ideas, and maybe there are spots you can fill in as well – there’s still tons of work to be done, and we need your help to make it happen.
Hopefully see you there,

Howdy howdy – just a quick report from our meeting last Wed!
All our Captains gave updates on their areas, and we brainstormed more ideas for each – too many to list in this email, but we’ve got lots of fun things shaping up for adults and kids!
There will be more fundraising events coming up, will keep you posted on these as they materialize. One item we didn’t get to: if we were to do more movie nights, any ideas or suggestions for movies? They can be fun or silly, or documentaries (something like Blue Planet?)
We also previewed draft logo and t-shirt designs, and they’re looking really good!!
And finally, our big Bake Sale is coming up quick, and we need to get posters on this out ASAP! Hayley is our Promotions coordinator, and if there’s an area of town you can cover, please send her a note to let her know where, and arrange getting some posters.
It’s really important that we get the word out, so please don’t be shy! The money raised there will be our primary fundraising for the event, so we gotta make this count – our goal is $2,000! Please be sure to spread the word – on Facebook and Twitter, mention it to friends and family and co-workers (got a busy coffee room at work? Get a poster up there too!)
And note in your calendars – the next meeting will be April 18th, same times and location, hope you can join us!! These are open to everyone, not just Captains, so let’s see you there! =)

A reminder of our 3rd meeting on Wednesday, April 4th, 6:30pm at Green Cuisine as usual (come down at 6pm to get a bite and chit-chat before.)
It’s important that all Captains attend so we can ensure you’re all moving forward well, and all other volunteers encouraged as well, I’m sure more items will come up. See you there! 🙂

The Victoria Vegan Festival (Canada Day in Market Square!) is taking shape in the background. We have been slogging through a lot of the boring logistics (a non-profit society you say?), and we’re now prepared to involve those who want to help get this party started!! 🙂
Our next meeting is this coming Wednesday, Mar 21st, 6:30pm at Green Cuisine (join us at 6pm for a bite to eat before).
We’re moving past the brainstorming phase and are now looking for ‘Captains’ to take on various responsibilities; there’s a ton to do in the run-up, and of course the day-of — play a leading role in the first ever Vegan Festival in Victoria!!!! See ya there? 🙂
If you can’t make the meeting but you’d like to volunteer – please e-mail Dave and he’ll put you on the mailing list.

Woot! It’s World Wide Vegan Bakesale Season again!! 🙂
This years fundraiser (April 28th at Sarah’s Place) will go to help fund the Victoria Vegan Festival.
That means we need to raise as much $$ as vegan-ly possible so we can have the best festival EVER!! 🙂
If you’d like to volunteer or provide goodies for the bakesale – please contact dave @friendsofanimals.org
